New Design Team/Surprise B-Day Items

I was recently invited to become a member of the SSPT Design Team and I'm very happy about it because sometimes I need that little push for me to continue creating. Our first project requirements has already been posted. There are so many ideas flowing through my mind. I was even thing about the project while I was at work. Make sure to stop by the SSPT blog on the 15th of April to see what all of the creative designers came up with.

Today, I want to share some items that I made for my cousin's 45th Surprise Birthday Party. I would like to thank my greatest enabler Jen C for the two cutfiles that I used (Purse & Bikini cards). I will probably make more things throughout the week if I have time but my schedule is pretty full this week. TFL.

My Home Decor Cart Arrived!!!

I was so thrilled when I saw the package with the Customs Declaration form on it, because I knew that it had finally arrived. I have been wanting this cart for a while but I wasn't willing to pay the high prices that are on Ebay. If anyone is interested in purchasing the Home Decor cart, I highly reccommmend the store in the United Kingdom that I purchased mine from. In American dollars I paid $57.00 and shipping was free!! It does take about 8 - 9 days to receive your order. Here is a link to the store that I used:

Altered Photo Box

I found this Photo Box in the clearance area in Target. It orginally sold for $19.99 but it was on final clearance for $4.98! At that price I bought two. I bought them with altering in mind. No Cricut here, but could be. One side is my Step-Daugther, Randi and the other is my Daugther, Prea. TFL.

Altered Cans

In a vain attempt to organize my scrap area I altered these cans. I decided to store some of by border punches in them for now that may change later. I used Sizzix dies for the paper dolls and Quickkutz for the butterflies. The faces are from Peachy Keen. I also used the Martha Stewart punch for the bows and Nesties for the shapes. TFL.

I Finished Two Of My Projects!!!

I'm so glad that I finished two of my projects. I just added flowers to the card, of course I could have done a lot more but I chose not to over do it. I spent a little more time on the box instead. I decided that I would store my precut borders inside this box. Also, I added a handle at the top of the box. Thanks for looking.

S T R E S S E D!!!!

It been a while since I posted and the items that I've posted are unfinished. I haven't had the spirit to finish them, nor have I finished the bulletin board at work. Hopefully, this ill spirit feeling leaves me soon, but as long as I work where I do......... this feeling will come and go. I'm just waiting for it to go! So that I can truly create.

Altered Box/Layout

I decided to take a break from cutting shapes and words to put on the bulletin board, so today I was able to complete two quick projects. If you look closely at both you will find that I definitely need to work on my stamping. My first project was to alter this tin that I had bought from JoAnn's about a month ago. I felt that I needed to put something on the top, so I used the pink ribbon. The loops are larger on one side (not on purpose)! I used glossy paper which I later found to be the wrong choice because I used two different colors for the rose and the leaves, but the colors seemed to melt into each other on the glossy paper (not the effect I was looking for). I used my new Fiskars punch that I purchased from the new Scrapbook store in Columbia, SC. The Grand Opening was this weekend. The store is named Scrappin Creations, they had someone demonstrating the different ways to use the punches and I had to get this punch after seeing the different ways it could be used.

My second project was a layout. I hadn't done a layout in months, but I found a K & Company 12 x 12 book that has the frame already cut out for pictures. After you add your pictures you can embellish a little or a lot it's totally up to you. For those of you that know me a little..........you know that I embellish ALOT!!! The picture is of my daughter playing dress up when she was 2 years old. TFL.

Working on a Bullentin Board at Work....

so I probably won't post until I'm finished with the bulletin board and get back into making cute things. I won't be able to post any pictures of the bulletin board because of where I work, and unfortunately I don't put the items I cut out together until I'm about to put them on the board. I should have been a school teacher! Then it would be okay for me to take and post the pictures of the completed board. I hope to be able to post one week from now. Later.

My Stampin Up Arrived!!!

I was so thrilled when I saw the box sitting on my porch. I put all of my stamps sets together and then...........I tried to stamp with watercolors........ !@$#*^#$@!
I cannot even describe how ugly my attempt came out.........it was cruel & unusual punishment to paper! I'm off to find some tutorials if anyone has any pointers please feel free to share ALL OF THEM with me!

Get Well Soon Cards

Finally, I have found some time to post! I have been busy shopping instead of creating and I'm running out of space to store my new stuff so I have been trying to organize. My Stampin Up order is due to be delivered tommorrow. My boss asked me to make a Get Well card for her mother who recently suffered a stroke. I immediatley started on it using a clear card. I really don't like the way it came out. So I cruised the Cricut Messageboard for ideas....... and there I saw it the perfect card! Magic Wanda has created a beautiful Heart Card using DS. I asked her for the cut file and she was nice and shared the file with me and many others. There are some really great people there! The card looks white and green on the pictures but in reality it is white, aqua and lime. The third card is a card I created using a template that I bought at the Stamp, Scrap Art Tour. TFL.
